How to

Traveling by train

We recommend travelling by express train (ICE/IC/EC) to Jenbach station (20km) or Wörgl (25km).

From Vienna you can reach Jenbach comfortably with the ÖBB Railjet. The fastest trains need only 3:47 hours for this route. Since December 2022, the Westbahn also runs 3 times a day from Vienna to Wörgl.
If you want to reach Alpach from Switzerland, the Eurocity will take you from Zurich to Jenbach in just 4:20 hours (change in Innsbruck).
The Austrian regional trains will take you to the train station Brixlegg (10km) or Rattenberg (12km).
The onward journey by bus from the above-mentioned train stations to Alpbach is free of charge upon presentation of the reservation confirmation from your accommodation.

Please make sure you make a seat reservation on all Austrian express trains. In case of very high occupancy, passengers without a seat may not be allowed to start their train journey.
