The Peter Durie Memorial Lecture (June 28th) will be given by Marco Cipolli, an Italian paediatric gastroenterologist, director of the Cystic Fibrosis Unit at the University of Verona. His clinical and scientific work has focused on cystic fibrosis and Shwachman syndrome for more than two decades. He contributed significantly to the understanding of this syndrome with the Italian National Registry of SBDS.
Michael Wilschanski will give the introductory lecture on Peter Durie’s life and work. He is Professor of Paediatrics at the Hebrew University and Director of the Pediatric Gastroenterology Unit at Hadassah Medical Center, Jerusalem. The focus of his research is all aspects of pancreatic diseases in children and his basic research laboratory investigates ion transport in vivo and in vitro.
